James is the Founder and CEO of Lifes2good, having set-up the company in 1997.
Born in Galway, he attended St.Jarlath’s College in Tuam and then attained a B. Comm in NUIG before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1986. James then moved to Brussels where he worked for Coopers & Lybrand (currently Pricewaterhouse Coopers) and spent five years working between Belgium and Luxembourg.
He returned to Ireland in 1991 to join BMR-Slendertone where, as part of the management team he built a successful brand and business, before embarking on his own venture in 1997, to start up Lifes2good.
Under James’ leadership, Lifes2good has grown from a small distribution company in the west of Ireland to a global enterprise. He championed a marketing model comprising of direct sales to consumers through database and internet marketing in addition to selling into pharmacy chains and health stores.
James made the company’s first acquisition in the UK in 2003. In 2007 he acquired the Viviscal brand when this business had a turnover of €700k. The company continued to grow with further expansion throughout Europe and the US.
The Lifes2good business expanded worldwide with offices in Ireland, UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Portugal. The Viviscal business grew to €50m turnover in 2016 and in January 2017, Lifes2good successfully sold the Viviscal brand to the US Conglomerate, Church & Dwight, for €150m.

Tom Tierney M InstD, DBS (IMI). Strategic Advisor
Tom currently fills the role of Strategic Advisor having previously held the senior management positions of CFO and COO in the company from 2007 to 2017.
Tom trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. As well as being a qualified accountant Tom holds a Diploma in Business Strategy from the Irish Management Institute (1994) and completed the Enterprise Ireland supported Strategic Leadership 4 Chief Financial Officers Programme in Stanford, in 2012. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors Ireland.
Tom now runs his own corporate advisory business aimed at providing C level management support services in areas of finance, strategic planning, and commercial practice as well as providing corporate restructuring and fundraising advice. In addition, he also sits on the boards of a number of private Irish companies and is Chairman of Cliona’s Foundation, a limerick based families support charity.
Tom O’Donnell Chief Financial Officer
Tom is the Chief Financial Officer across the Lifes2good and Mount Amber Group which covers health & beauty, property, equity and portfolio investments. He is a qualified Accountant with 20 years’ experience across a broad range of sectors and roles. He has completed an MBA at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Dublin and a Strategic Leadership for CFO’s programme at Stanford University Graduate School of Business in California.
Tom lives in Galway and is married with 5 young children.
Trish Lally Chief Operating Officer
Trish has been with Lifes2good since 2013 and is the Chief Operating Officer across the Lifes2good Group which covers being responsible for the day to day management and communications with the businesses and investments that Lifes2good have in the health & beauty, medical and technical sectors.
Born in the US, Trish went to college in Middlesex University, London where she qualified as a nurse and spent over 10 years in the healthcare sector. She moved back to Ireland and into private industry gaining wide experience over 20 years in a variety of sales and marketing and operational business areas including customer service, marketing analytics, supply chain, procurement, project management, information technology and business intelligence.
Finn Dillon Corporate Development Manager / Legal Counsel
Finn joined Lifes2good in 2015 and has a dual role as Corporate Development Manager and in-house legal counsel. Prior to joining Lifes2good, Finn worked as a solicitor in one of Dublin’s top tier law firms.
Finn has a Bachelor of Civil Law Degree from National University of Ireland Galway and qualified as a solicitor in 2012.
Keith O'Shaughnessy Financial Accountant
Keith has over 12 years of experience in finance. He has a broad range of accountancy, tax and audit skills and knowledge built up from his time working in practice and in industry. Keith has worked across all aspects of company financial and managements accounts. He has worked on many projects during his 8 years at Lifes2good including working closely on the financial side of the company’s largest brand sale to date.
Keith’s time at Lifes2good has given him full exposure to the excitement and pressures of working in a fast-paced environment.
Keith holds an honours degree in International Commerce with German from the National University of Ireland Galway (majoring in Human Resources) and is a fully qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certifed Accountants (ACCA).
Away from Lifes2good Keith is married with two young girls and when not spending time with them can be found coaching and playing with his local soccer club, Salthill Devon.
Gwen Casburn Senior Treasury & Accounts Payable
With over 19 year’s experience in Accounting, Gwen joined the busy team in 2016. Focusing on daily Financial Management & Accounts payable division for multiple entities within the Group. She has accumulated a broad range of knowledge in medium-sized companies including a family run business as Director, her time here exposed her to a full spectrum of financial and management functions she later moved on to new start-up Irish Enterprise. Gwen is currently furthering her studies in Taxation.
A past competitive Volleyball player, Gwen’s most prized accomplishment is her two young children.

Ursula is a valuable member of the Finance team for over 13 years.
Maurice McQuillan CEO Lifes2good Foundation
The foundation was set up by James and Maria Murphy after business success in Lifes2good. The current primary focus of the foundation is on the environment, but the foundation also continues with two programmes from the first strategic planning cycle, which focused on women and children in situations of vulnerability. The main geographical focus is Galway / West of Ireland and one developing country. The foundation works with diverse organisations, from Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) to CAMFED who specialise in girl’s education and empowerment in the developing world.
Prior to this Maurice worked in the international development and humanitarian sector for 14 years. He was Global Security Manager for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) – a large American INGO operating in over 100 countries and prior to that he was the Head of Humanitarian Programming in Trocaire in Ireland. Both jobs involved extensive travel to far flung corners of the globe at challenging times. He landed in Port au Prince in Haiti on Jan. 12th 2010, days after the earthquake hit that city, killing 230,000 people. At the latter end of his humanitarian career he spent much time working in Syria, Somalia and in Afghanistan. In both CRS and Trocaire he delivered extensive training at board and senior management level.
Prior to working in the humanitarian sector Maurice worked in Irish politics and before that he spent a year in Bosnia with the EU, after the war, as a “Political and Humanitarian Monitor”. He is a former Irish army officer and was involved in border operations during “the troubles” in Ireland and was deployed in peacekeeping roles with the United Nations in Lebanon, Somalia and Bosnia.
Maurice enjoys all sports, particularly Irish rugby, and for his sins he is a Leeds United soccer fan!
Liam Gannon Data & Platform Specialist
Having worked in the technology space for more than 14 years, Liam has worked in roles varying from desktop support to enterprise application development. Along the way, he has worked in many industries including construction, medical devices, financial services, waste management and health and beauty.
Through his roles within the Lifes2good group, Liam has specialised in system integration and data modelling.
Along with this, Liam is responsible for introducing efficiencies and reducing costs through technology.
Liam is married with three young children so as such, has little spare time. He is also a keen sports fan but generally only competes from his armchair.
Rob Lee Business Development Manager
Joining Lifes2good in 2013, Rob has developed a broad range of professional skills from sales and operations to marketing and business development. Rob spent four years working as part of Viviscal’s US-based team in Chicago before shifting his focus to newer investments.
Rob is passionate about growing businesses and through his roles at Lifes2good has become highly experienced in all things Amazon.com related.
Rob graduated in 2011 with a BA in Business & Finance followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in International Business in 2015 from the Irish Management Institute (IMI).
Outside the office, Rob enjoys staying fit by playing a variety of sports and going to the gym.
